Industry Accelerator Program
Workshop

The Industry Accelerator Program (IAP) workshop brought together policy and technical experts, motor manufacturers, and other key stakeholders to share insights on advancing efficient motor production in Pakistan.

Participants included representatives from the:

• National Energy Efficiency & Conservation Authority
• Pakistan Standards and Quality Control Authority
• Pakistan Pumps & Electric Motors Manufacturers Association
• CLASP
• The World Bank
• United Nations Industrial Development Organization, Pakistan
• GIZ Pakistan
• GIFT University
• Information Technology University
• Urban Unit, and other leading organisations working in the similar domain.
• PCSIR Laboratories Karachi

The workshop highlighted the local motor manufacturing industry’s journey under IAP from:

• Early challenges to improved manufacturing capabilities,
• Progress towards upgradation of testing and laboratory infrastructure, and
• Advances in compliance capabilities with NEECA and international efficiency standards.

Discussions also focused on the way forward, emphasizing the importance of demand-side measures, market awareness, and continued collaboration among industry, regulators, and development partners to sustain and scale the gains achieved under the program.
