Biodiversity in Better Cotton

The Biodiversity in Better Cotton project, funded by the Better Cotton Initiative (BCI), is a collaborative effort between SAMA^Verte and Pilio Group (UK) as Biodiversity Knowledge Partners. Their shared objective is to evaluate the current biodiversity status in cotton-producing region. The strategic timeline for this initiative extends over a duration of three years.

Stakeholders Inception Workshop –  May 2023

At its core, this initiative aims to craft an adaptable Biodiversity Enhancement Action Plan that holds the potential to transcend various contexts and future applications. It encompasses activities such as Biodiversity data gathering through various methods and tools, conducting focus group discussions, identifying & mapping degraded and riparian areas. Additionally, it involves capacity building initiatives for BCI’s implementation partners, farmers as well as the community.
