SAMA^Verte is a key contributor to efforts aimed at scaling up adoption of solar home systems and promoting battery recycling in Pakistan. This initiative is being carried out in collaboration with NEC – Econoclor and KfW Germany.
One of the major goals of this initiative is to increase the adoption of solar home systems in off-grid areas of Punjab and Sindh. To achieve this, SAMA^Verte has been working closely with KfW Germany to develop investment plans that will enable microfinance providers to offer financing to households for the purchase of solar home systems. These systems will provide clean, reliable energy to households that are currently off the grid, reducing their reliance on fossil fuels and improving their quality of life.
In addition to promoting the adoption of solar home systems, SAMA^Verte is also working to promote battery recycling in Pakistan. The aim of this initiative is to reduce the environmental impact of discarded batteries, which can contain hazardous materials. SAMA^Verte is working closely with NEC – Econoclor, which is the lead consultant for this aspect of the project.
Overall, SAMA^Verte’s contribution to this initiative is critical to its success. By working closely with KfW Germany, NEC – Econoclor, and other stakeholders, SAMA^Verte is helping to develop practical and effective solutions to promote the adoption of solar home systems and battery recycling in Pakistan. This will help to reduce GHG emissions, improve access to clean energy, and promote sustainable development in the country.
