SAMA^Verte has played a key role in designing and developing the energy sector reform portfolio for the RAFTAAR Programme in Pakistan, in collaboration with Adam Smith International and DfID UK. The RAFTAAR Programme aims to drive reforms in the energy and tax sectors in Pakistan, and SAMA^Verte experts provided critical advisory services on energy conservation to support this goal.
As part of this project, SAMA^Verte experts contributed to the design and development of the portfolio, helping to identify key areas for intervention and design appropriate interventions. The portfolio was designed to address key challenges in the energy sector in Pakistan, such as inefficient energy use, high transmission and distribution losses, and limited access to reliable and affordable energy services.
In addition, SAMA^Verte provided advisory services for the development of a renewables programme for urban areas of Pakistan. The aim of this programme is to promote the adoption of renewable energy solutions in urban areas, which can help to reduce dependence on fossil fuels, lower greenhouse gas emissions, and improve access to reliable and affordable energy services.
Overall, SAMA^Verte’s contribution to the design and development of the energy sector reform portfolio for the RAFTAAR Programme in Pakistan has been critical to driving reforms in the energy sector and promoting the adoption of renewable energy solutions. By identifying key areas for intervention and designing appropriate interventions, SAMA^Verte has helped to address some of the key challenges facing the energy sector in Pakistan, and paved the way for more sustainable and efficient energy systems in the future.
